How do I love thee — Onion Rings!

Onion rings.
I just can’t seem to detach myself from craving a bite and of course, munching on its crispy outer and succulent flesh on the inside.

Most often, I’d end up disappointed whenever I dine, find onion rings on the menu and it’s not available. It has become a cycle — a routine even — that I stopped from asking despite the writings on the menu.

So, how do you remedy an onion ring craving?
You make some.


White Onion, peeled, rings
All-purpose flour, sifted
Garlic powder
Black pepper
Dash of spanish paprika
Oil for frying

It’s actually easy as 1-2-3.
Or more likely, as easy as an F-E-Fry!

In a bowl, mix all-purpose flour, garlic powder, black pepper and spanich paprika. Set aside.

In a separate bowl, crack eggs and beat lightly. Set aside.

Prep your rings by patting them on kitchen towels. Rid the moisture. At this stage, I sprinkle it with a bit of farlic powder for that garlicky punch on the palate! ( yes, I love me some garlic!)

On a pan, over medium-low heat, pour oil. Wait until its hot enough to deep fry your rings .

It’s coating time!
Get an onion ring, dip in flour and dust off excess.
Dip floured onion in egg and dip again in flour mixture.
Fry until golden.
Serve with your preferred dip or like me, vinegar!
