Globalization has opened a number of great opportunities – palate wise, that is. Because of this, we are able to mix and match food combinations that makes for a better gastronomic experience for us all.
With Rekado Davao, the newest Filipino comfort food restaurant to invade the streets of Davao, balance is what you get when you choose to dine and wine. From the outside, it looks a bit intimidating with its floor to ceiling box enclosure façade but once you step inside, you’d be treated to a comforting interior that charms you to take a seat and order.
Rekado Davao is a modern take on all-time favourites we have grown up with but plated with a twist. With its name, you’d expect nothing but perfectly cooked dishes made with the freshest local ingredients you’d ever find. And most definitely, that’s what you’ll get.
Their menu is rich and easy to deal with thus, making it easy for you to order and satisfy your cravings. Although a bit on the pricey end, still, you’ll get more than what you will pay.
Craving for something new? Try their version of kilawin in a jar – Spicy Tuna with Mango — creamy style kilawin with mango pieces and crab fat served with crispy wonton. Refreshing to the palate. . . you can always add more chilli if you want.
Crunchy salad, Filipino style? Their Chicharon with Kilawin brings a whole new dimension to a soggy salad experience. Pieces of fresh malasugi topped with vegetable cracklings with fresh crunchy greens and sweet-tangy dressing adds a new meaning to going sinfully healthy.
Want something fishy? Order their Pesang Lamangdagat with Pompano and you’ll love every bite of it. It’s very flavourful and something you’d want to share with people you love.
Something crunchy and healthy? Try their deep-fried Lapu-Lapu with tamarind and guava sauce and fried basil. If this does not make you cringe with joy then you probably have a dysfunctional family of taste buds.
If you want a medley of fresh sea catch, then order their Grilled BBQ Seafood platter with Ensaladang Talong and soy sauce.
Before you say “I’m done”, have a bite (or two!) of their freshly fried churros with salted caramel and dark chocolate with chilli sauce for that perfect dining experience at Rekado Davao.
